The fire curtain and its mechanical workings are imperative for safety as well as aesthetics. Due to the age of the system, we need to replace it. As you might guess, this is an expensive part of any stage. The entire cost for the project is $25,000.Please consider participating in the project by buying a square foot, a square yard or perhaps a linear yard of the curtain at the following levels; however, any size contribution is greatly appreciated:

The Peacock Performing Arts Center in Hayesville, NC is a center of community and cultural activity, providing quality entertainment to residents of Western North Carolina and North Georgia. People who have attended performances at Peacock Performing Arts Center know that it is a gem of superior quality. Those who haven’t attended yet are in for a stunning surprise: big city entertainment in a quiet mountain town.
preserve, promote, participate
Built in the 1980s as the result of Lilith Lidseen’s dream of creating a performing arts center for the people of this area, the theater boasts 250 comfortable seats, superior sound and lighting, and a steady flow of stellar performances including four plays a year that make audiences laugh, swoon, or shake in their boots; musical concerts of great variety; and family entertainment such as juggling and magic shows. It is also available for rentals.
Miss Lidseen, who has been described as part Auntie Mame and part Noel Coward sophisticate, loved this community and the performing arts. The construction of the Peacock fulfilled her dream, even though she was not alive when it was completed in 1986. Today, under the management of the Lilith Lidseen Performing Arts Association, the center not only features community theater and live music, but ballroom dance classes and children’s drama camps. Our 2017 season has something for everyone: Two comedies, a grand musical, and a twisty thriller, plus a variety of concerts — from blues and Americana to big band, and the ever popular Sock Hops returning in January. We’re offering some great special events too! In response to patron requests, we’re now offering reserved seating at concerts and special events as well as plays.
Volunteers dedicate themselves to preserving and expanding the Peacock, which is a nonprofit. True to its mission as a community performing arts center, the Peacock was recently annexed voluntarily into Hayesville city limits. According to Mayor Harry Baughn, “it’s a symbiotic thing that helps both the city and the Peacock.”
