Arts and Education is a major focus of the Peacock Performing Arts Center—it’s represented by the first word in our mission to “Preserve, Promote and Participate.” We endeavor to preserve the arts for future generations by offering quality educational programs to adults, children and youth.
Ms. Robbie’s Performing Arts Camp
Sunday, December 4th at 2:00 pm. will be the first acting showcase with Ms. Robbie’s Workshop Kids, at the Peacock Performing Arts Center in Hayesville. 15 children, ages 7 yrs. thru 15, will take this opportunity to show off their skills in short scenes and holiday monologues. They will bring in a festive spirit by portraying such characters as Mrs. Santa, Frosty, A Mischievous Elf, Santa’s Captain Toy Solider, Jack Frost and many more. For anyone interested to know what can be learned in Ms. Robbie’s workshops this is a great opportunity and you can also find out about auditions for next year’s Summer camp and production with a Mermaid story theme. Snacks and drinks will be available during the Showcase which will last about an hour. Tickets are $7.00.
Ballroom Dance Classes
Ballroom dance classes are taught by Laurel Adams and will be offered in the Fall of 2022. Beginner class starts on Tuesday, November 8th and Intermediate/Advanced. class starts on Monday, November 7th. All classes are from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Each class is $15/couple; $8 singles (no partner necessary)
Classes are a 5-week session, pay-as-you-go.
Dress code: smooth soled shoes
Ms. Adams will review in every class what was taught in the previous class; so it is okay to miss a class.
Dances taught are the Waltz, Foxtrot, East Coast Swing, Rumba, Cha-cha and International (not Argentinian) Tango.
Private Lessons;: $20 per couple/per hour.
