Some music cannot be found on a map or within iTunes categories. Some music is so original it seems snatched from the great, invisible substrata that runs below all human activity, a sound aching to be born without a flag or fixed allegiance – free, questing, overflowing with immediate, tangible life. This is the music of Toubab Krewe, the vibrant Asheville, NC-based instrumental powerhouse that creates a sonic Pangaea that lustily swirls together rock, jam sensibilities, international folk strains and more. While nearly impossible to put into any box, it takes only a few moments to realize in a very palpable way that one is face-to-face with a true original who recognizes no borders in a march towards a muscular, original, globally switched-on sound.

Each band member has extensive live performance experience and recognizes the audience’s desire for entertainment as much as hearing those familiar songs. As one fan put it, “Your renditions of Tom Petty’s greatest hits are outstanding and one can’t help but want to get up and groove given the note-for-note approach you take.” Tom Petty passed away in October of 2017 but The Petty Hearts are committed to honoring both Tom and his bandmates by recreating the live concert experience and playing the songs the world loves and appreciates.

Christmas with the King!

DEC 17, 2022

Travis LeDoyt is known as “the world’s best” at portraying young Elvis Presley in his prime in the 50s and 60s. His uncanny resemblance to the “King of Rock and Roll” has audiences gasping when he takes the stage. Once he begins to sing and dance, fans are truly captivated by the authenticity of LeDoyt’s performance, even garnering high praise from those who knew Elvis personally. Sold out shows and repeat engagements around the world further attest to LeDoyt’s impeccable ability to capture the very essence of “The King” and leave fans waiting more. The biggest compliment LeDoyt has received came from D. J. Fontana who was Elvis Presley’s drummer in the 50s who said, “This is as close as you’ll get to seeing a concert by Elvis Presley in the early years.” The New York Times chose LeDoyt as the person who most looked like Elvis for a photo shoot.
