Monthly News

On Saturday, August 24, 2019, Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues performs. Mac Arnold started his career at an early age and it reads like a “Who’s Who” of Blues and R&B legends. His high school band included James Brown on piano. At the age of 24 he joined the Muddy Waters Band and helped shape the electric blues sound that inspired the rock and roll movement in the late ’60s. He then formed the “Soul Invaders” which backed up artists like the Temptations and B.B. King. Mac spent 5 years on the set of Soul Train and worked with Bill Withers (“Lean on Me”) before moving back to his native South Carolina. Mac always fills the house here at the Peacock.

On Saturday, September 14th, 2019, at 7pm, Songwriters Showcase 29 will play with special guests Austin Plane, Lon Eldridge, and Shannon LaBrie.  Rob Tiger hosts these wonderful and creative performers.  As usual, you are in for a treat at this event.

Auditions are complete and the cast has been chosen for our final play of the year, Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. A mystery by Simon Stephens, based on the best-selling novel by Mark Haddon. Fifteen-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent and a mathematical genius but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life due to his autism spectrum disorder. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor’s dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit. This leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever. Winner of 7 Oliver Awards: 5 Tony Awards including Best Play – 2015, 6 Drama Awards and 5 Outer Critics Circle Award and Drama League Award.  The play shows October 11-13 and 18-20.  Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30pm and Sunday performances are at 2:30pm.
